Invisalign

   Invisalign is the brand name of a new type of clear braces made by Align Technologies. Traditional braces require regular visits to the orthodontist who tightens the wires, gradually straightening misaligned teeth. Clear ("invisible") braces have become increasingly popular: they work the same way as, but are much less conspicuous than, metal braces.

Invisalign, however, works differently than traditional braces. Your dentist will send impressions of your teeth to Align technologies, where computer imaging is used to make a series of tough, clear plastic trays specially molded to your teeth. The computer simulates the stages the teeth will go through until they reach their final position, and the Invisalign trays are created based on this simulation.

Your teeth are aligned by wearing each set of trays for two weeks, then replacing it with the next set. The aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing. This ease of use makes them a popular alternative to conventional clear braces, and the Invisalign treatment takes the same amount of time as traditional orthodontic braces.
